The Correct Hearing Team

You’re in safe hands when you trust our independent, family-led business with your hearing care.

Meet the Founders

Correct Hearing is a family business. Sarah and Ian founded the company.

Sarah Vokes

Founder & Audiologist

When I was a teenager I had meningitis, which left me with a one-sided hearing loss, so I fully understand the complexities arising from hearing loss — and it was also the main reason I became an audiologist, to help other people. I studied at Nottingham School of Audiology and worked in the NHS and for a large national company before setting up Correct Hearing in 2009. I wanted to create a more relaxed and bespoke service.

Alongside the business I have a very busy home life! I am married to Ian (my fellow Correct Hearing director) with five boys — two of whom we foster. When not working, most of my time is taken up with music as the children are involved with various orchestras.

Ian Vokes

Founder

I fully understand the complexities arising from hearing issues as I wear hearing aids – I have to say they have been life changing! My young son Freddie also has hearing loss and wears his hearing aids with pride!

I work alongside my wife and two older boys Adam and Maxwell Vokes to create a family friendly and bespoke service that is personal for every person that walks through our door.

Alongside the business I have a very busy home life. I am married to Sarah (my fellow hearing director) with 5 boys – two at whom we fostered. When we’re not working, most of our time is taken up with music as the children are involved in many different musical ventures!

Meet the Team

Maxwell Vokes

Director & Audiologist

Hello I am Maxwell Vokes! As a dedicated Audiologist and wax specialist, I bring a wealth of expertise to my clinic, having trained in five distinct methods of wax removal. My passion for this procedure drives my commitment to providing the best possible care for my clients, ensuring their hearing experience is as optimal as possible.

Outside of my professional life, I am a piano player, having previously performed live and currently working towards returning to the stage. I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Skye Vokes, and we have a wonderful little boy named Jett Vokes. My enthusiasm for music and the profound connection between audiology and sound fuels my fascination with enhancing the auditory experiences of my clients. As an audiologist, I cherish the relationships I build with my diverse clientele, always striving to help them to the best of my ability.

Adam Vokes

Director & Audiologist

I’m a fully qualified Audiologist and passed my dispensing degree with flying colours at De Montfort University. I’ve worked at Correct Hearing for a few years now and previously worked for a hearing charitable organisation.

The best thing about working at Correct is being able to help people, it is a very fulfilling role. I really enjoy socialising with my friends and family and I’m a bit of a car fanatic.

Namra Osman

Audiologist

I’m a qualified and registered Audiologist, Hearing Aid Dispenser with HCPC. I have a BSc Audiology degree from De Montfort University. After training in the NHS, I worked for a corporate national company. I’ve been working at Correct Hearing for two wonderful years now. At Correct Hearing I love to be able to make patients feel relaxed and at ease where some may feel a little nervous.

I’m also a qualified Tinnitus Counsellor and an approved CLEARWAX ear wax removal specialist. I can perform ear wax removal with water irrigation, micro-suction and the latest technique of endoscopic micro-suction.

When I’m not working, I enjoy cycling, swimming and going for long walks. I also love cooking, and spending quality time with friends and family, which is a real blessing.
